To reflect its transformation into an international energy leader, Mubadala Petroleum rebranded to “Mubadala Energy” in September 2022. Reiterating its position towards global energy transition, Mubadala Energy has shifted its focus on sustainability stewardship and expansion in the natural gas value chain. The company aims to produce responsible, low-carbon energy through its strength in natural gas, creating long-term value and prioritizing decarbonization efforts.
With this goal in mind, the company has made significant investments in the natural gas sector, including the discovery of two new gas sources in Indonesia and Malaysia through the Pegaga gas project. The project involved a capital expenditure of AED 3.6 billion and achieved commercial production of 550 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. By leveraging its expertise in natural gas, Mubadala Energy solidifies its position as a reliable energy operator and contributes to the global energy transition through sustainable resources.
